Since each mapping project is unique it is
not possible here to establish any kind of precise price schedule. As a
general guide, however, the maps I have made for various mapping projects
range from about $100.00 to $800.00 per map. The least expensive map would
be black & white with just basic details like streams, towns, and key
landmarks on a plain background. Shaded relief backgrounds take more time
and are consequently more expensive. Larger color maps with detailed
background image and lots of labels are the most expensive.
Historical research often deals with
place names that are no longer in use or whose locations are unknown
or obscure. Most mapping clients provide me with fairly complete data
to use in making their maps. If your project includes places you have
been unable to locate I may be able to assist you in the research.
In addition to creating the map, I am
equipped to provide certain types of cartographic analysis to help with
your historical study. Feel free to contact me if you have questions about
how I might be able to help with your particular project.
I can advise you about document
printing options for display maps. I am also able to handle the
reproduction for you at a competitive price.
